So the address of your blog would be bitlampshadeinfo dot com or lampshadeblog dot org. Again, the more popular products or areas such as car or job or insurance have hundreds if not thousands of people who have created their own little niches from using those phrases too. I haven’t checked but I can almost assure you that carsinfo and carsblog in any of the three extensions have been taken. Next! But your lesser used words may not be.
The other thing we should consider is using dashes and underscores. Your first choice should be to have the phrase before the extension all one word as in alloneword. If you have a choice, however, between a dash or underscore, choose the dash. Underscores are really good for technology geeks and programmer types. In fact, if your website pages are ever uploaded and converted into PDFs, you will see underscores in the address bar, usually after the extension.
So, to summarize. Use one whole phrase, if possible, with a .com, .net. or .org. If those are taken, put a word such as info, blog, or review in the title. Next, use dashes or hyphens between your words or underscores. Finally, use a lesser known extension such as .info, .us. asia, or .euro. As people take stronger domain names such as what I’ve described above, more of those dot extensions are being added to accommodate.
